BeepKeep privacy policy

Effective date: 27 October 2026 · Norsk sammendrag

BeepKeep helps you keep track of maintenance for your household appliances. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who else handles it, how long it's kept, and your rights. We've tried to keep it plain.

Who is responsible

BeepKeep is made by Kristina Tiskeviciute (Bulve Labs), Stavern, Norway, who is responsible for your data. For anything about your data, contact bulvelabs@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

DataWhy
Your email address and password (the password is stored only in scrambled form)To create your account and let you sign in.
Photos of appliances you take or choose, and of model labelsTo identify the appliance and its model. Photos are stored privately so you can see them in the app. Location and other hidden photo data are removed on your phone before upload.
Appliance details (brand, model, type, nickname), maintenance tasks, completion history, supplies and portion countsTo schedule reminders and show maintenance instructions.
Settings: language, country, water hardness, reminder preferencesTo tailor reminders, instructions and identification to you.
Feedback you choose to give (ratings, reasons, which steps were wrong, optional comments)To find and fix poor instructions and identifications.
Usage of the AI features (which feature, when, how much processing it used)To keep the service affordable: per-account limits and cost tracking.
Technical logs (for example error messages from our servers)To find and fix problems.

We don't collect your location, contacts or advertising ID, we don't show ads, and we don't sell or share your data for advertising.

Legal basis (GDPR): providing the service you signed up for (contract) for the app's features; our legitimate interest in keeping the service working, secure and affordable for logs, limits and cost tracking; and your consent for the optional beta photo testing below.

AI features

Identification and maintenance instructions are generated by AI (Anthropic's Claude). Your appliance photo and details are sent to Anthropic to produce them. AI output can contain mistakes, and the app labels it as AI-generated. Instructions for the same appliance model may be shared between users, but they never contain your personal data.

Beta: photos for testing (optional)

During the beta you can choose to let us use your appliance photos to test how well BeepKeep recognises appliances. If you agree, the photos of appliances you delete are kept in a private folder, together with what the AI guessed and what you saved. Only the BeepKeep team can see them. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, which deletes the kept photos.

Who else handles your data

We use these service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us, under data processing agreements.

How long we keep data

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, ask us to limit or stop processing it, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email bulvelabs@gmail.com; we answer within one month. You can delete your account yourself in the app (Settings → Delete account) or as described here.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or the authority where you live.

Children

BeepKeep is not meant for children. You must be at least 16 years old to use it. If we learn that a child under this age has an account, we delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, photos are stored privately and only you can open yours, and access to your data is restricted to your own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data, and we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires if something goes wrong.

For users in California

We collect the categories of personal information described above, for the purposes described above, and share them only with the service providers listed. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. The app doesn't track you across other apps or websites, so it doesn't respond to "Do Not Track" signals differently. You can review and change your data in the app, or contact us.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
